Four Seasons Hotel Mumbai opened in 2008 as a 33-floor tower at Worli — a smaller, quieter luxury hotel than the city's grand addresses, with around 200 rooms, Four Seasons service, and the AER bar on the roof that half of Mumbai has been to. Its real asset is position: Worli's corporate headquarters and Lower Parel's towers are minutes away, and the Sea Link to Bandra and BKC starts just up the road.
It suits senior executives with meetings in Worli or Lower Parel who want a hotel that is calm rather than large; travellers whose trip splits between South Mumbai and BKC, for whom Worli is the hinge; and couples and families on a city break who want the sea face, the restaurants of Lower Parel and a pool with a view.
What it isn't: an airport or a convention hotel. The terminal is 45 minutes to an hour away, and the event space, though good, is sized for boardrooms and receptions rather than dealer meets of 800. For that scale in the same district, the St. Regis has the Astor Ballroom.
Worli is where the Sea Link lands on the island city, which makes the Four Seasons a workable base in every direction: Lower Parel on foot, Nariman Point down the coast, BKC and the airport over the bridge. The Worli Sea Face promenade is a fifteen-minute walk.
