Taj Lands End opened in 1999 on the Land's End peninsula at Bandstand, Bandra West, and it remains one of the few large Mumbai hotels where a majority of rooms look at water rather than at another building. It has 493 rooms including 33 suites across 18 floors.
It suits leisure and weekend stays where the sea view justifies the rate, senior business travellers who want Bandra rather than an office district, and events and celebrations, with about 22,000 sq ft of banquet space including a 6,600 sq ft ballroom.
What it isn't: convenient for BKC mornings. Bandra West to BKC is a short distance that behaves badly at peak hours. If every meeting is in the business district, book inside BKC and keep Lands End for the weekend.
Bandstand sits at the western tip of Bandra, with the promenade below the hotel and the Sea Link a couple of minutes away — which makes the run south to Worli and Lower Parel far easier than the run east to BKC at rush hour.
