What’s in Whitefield

Whitefield grew from a railway suburb into Bengaluru’s largest tech district: International Tech Park (ITPL / ITPB), Brigade Tech Park, the EPIP zone and the string of campuses along Whitefield Main Road and towards Hoodi and Mahadevapura. Trips here are office visits, project stays, training programmes and the annual meets that fill the Sheraton’s convention centre.

The important thing: Whitefield is 20 km from the city centre and the road in between is the problem. KR Puram, Marathahalli and the Old Madras Road are slow at peak. Tell us the office, not just “Bengaluru”, and we’ll keep you on the right side of them.

Three ways to choose

Beside the office. Marriott, Vivanta, Holiday Inn Express and Lemon Tree are all within a few minutes of ITPL. Shortest commute, least to think about.

For an event. The Sheraton Grand Whitefield’s convention centre is why many companies hold their Bengaluru annual meet on this side of the city. We quote the venue and the rooms together.

For the senior visitor. Sofitel Whitefield when the hotel is part of the impression — still in Whitefield, still minutes from the parks.

About 35 to 40 km. Allow 45 to 75 minutes by car depending on the time of day; the route runs via the Outer Ring Road or the Hennur–Hoskote side. There's no rail link to the airport yet.

Yes. The Purple Line runs from Whitefield (Kadugodi) through KR Puram and MG Road to the west of the city, with Pattandur Agrahara station beside ITPL. It's the quickest way into town for a dinner or a second meeting on MG Road.

Whichever your office is in. They're adjacent on the map but Marathahalli junction sits between them, and crossing it at peak hours is slow. If your trip covers both, Marathahalli or Kundalahalli is the compromise.
