Chapter One
Notes from us, on Thailand
Things we’d tell a friend before they booked. Specific, opinionated, occasionally inconvenient.
i.
Patong is not Phuket.
Most Indian packages put you on Patong because it is cheap and central. It is also noisy, crowded and the beach is mediocre. Karon and Kata are 10 minutes south with proper beaches; Mai Khao and Bang Tao in the north are where the big-brand resorts sit on near-empty sand.
Honeymoon: Mai Khao or Kata Noi. Groups who want nightlife: fine, Patong.
ii.
The 30-day visa-free rule changed in September 2026.
Indians still enter visa-free, but the stay is now 30 days, not 60, and immigration asks for a return ticket, hotel confirmation and sometimes proof of funds (THB 10,000 per person). Our hotel voucher covers the accommodation proof. File the Thailand Digital Arrival Card online before you fly — it is free and takes five minutes.
We send the TDAC link with your booking confirmation.
iii.
Pure-veg and Jain travellers: the big hotels handle it, the street doesn’t.
The big Bangkok and Phuket hotels all have Indian restaurants nearby and will do Jain breakfasts on request. Put it in the booking. Phuket Marriott Merlin Beach and JW Marriott Phuket in particular are used to large Indian groups.
Bangkok has excellent Indian food on Sukhumvit Soi 11 and in Pahurat (Little India).

Chapter Two
Where to stay in Thailand
The area decides the holiday. Pick one, then we pick the hotel.
No. Indian passport holders enter visa-free for up to 30 days (the limit was reduced from 60 days on 15 September 2026). Carry a return ticket and hotel confirmation, and file the free Thailand Digital Arrival Card online within 72 hours before arrival. Business trips need a visa.
Phuket or Krabi?
Phuket if you want choice, nightlife and direct flights. Krabi if you want calmer, more dramatic beaches and don’t mind a connection via Bangkok. Honeymooners increasingly pick Krabi.
How many nights in Bangkok?
Two is enough for shopping and a temple morning; three if you want a day at Safari World or a river evening. Most people over-allocate to Bangkok and under-allocate to the beach.
Can you book the hotel and I book my own flights?
Yes — most of our Thailand customers do exactly that. We quote the hotels live for your dates and issue an Indian GST invoice; you keep your airline points.
