Thailand for groups — dealer meets, incentives and offsites

Thailand is where Indian companies take their dealers and their top performers, and for good reasons: visa-free entry, four hours from Mumbai, hotels that have run hundreds of Indian groups, and three destinations that suit three different briefs. The planning is in picking the right one.

The hotels that run Indian groups

Bangkok. Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park on Sukhumvit Soi 22 is the city’s convention hotel; Centara Grand at CentralWorld sits above the mall with the Bangkok Convention Centre attached; Pullman King Power and Amari Watergate take the mid-budget groups. All have Indian kitchens or work with Indian caterers.

Pattaya. Centara Grand Mirage at Wongamat is the family-and-dealer resort with a water park and big venues; Dusit Thani Pattaya at the north end for the senior group; Royal Cliff on Pratumnak hill has the largest convention space on the coast; Avani and Holiday Inn on Beach Road for the budget-conscious meet.

Phuket. Phuket Marriott Merlin Beach at Tri Trang is the group resort — quiet beach, ten minutes from Patong, very experienced with Indian groups; Le Méridien Phuket Beach Resort at Karon has its own cove and the venues; JW Marriott Mai Khao for leadership offsites; Centara Grand Beach Resort at Karon for larger incentives.

How we run it

  1. Brief. Headcount, dates, the purpose, the budget per head, and whether there’s a conference day. One WhatsApp thread with one person.
  2. Shortlist. Two or three hotels in the right destination with group rates, venue, meal plans and transfer costs on one sheet, within two working days.
  3. Hold and build. We hold the block, confirm the venue and the menus — Indian-vegetarian buffets are standard at these hotels — and lock the flights or the charter.
  4. Travellers. Rooming list, Digital Arrival Cards, passport checks, a pre-departure note for every traveller.
  5. On the ground. Airport meet-and-greet, coaches, a hotel contact who knows the group, and our person reachable throughout.
  6. Invoice. One INR invoice with GST on our service, with the hotel’s foreign-currency invoice attached for your records.

Practical

  • Season. November to February is high season and the best weather everywhere; book early. May to October is low season — a third cheaper, afternoon showers, and Phuket’s sea is rough. Pattaya and Bangkok work year-round.
  • Flights. Non-stop to Bangkok and Phuket from Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru. For 150 or more on one date, a charter is often cheaper than scheduled seats and we can arrange it.
  • Entry. Visa-free, 30 days, Digital Arrival Card within 72 hours — one per traveller, not one per group.
  • Money. The baht runs about ₹2.6–2.8. Group extras are easiest on a hotel master account, settled by us.

Tell us the headcount, the dates and the brief, and we’ll send the shortlist within two working days.

FAQ

Common questions

Bangkok if the meet needs a real conference day and the group wants the city — shopping, Sukhumvit, the river. Pattaya if the brief is a beach resort with a ballroom, two hours from the Bangkok flight, at the best group rates in the country. Phuket if it's a smaller, higher-value group — top performers, leadership — and the beach is the point.

In Bangkok, the Marriott Marquis Queen's Park, Centara Grand at CentralWorld and the Pullman King Power run Indian conferences constantly. In Pattaya, the Centara Grand Mirage, Dusit Thani and Royal Cliff have the ballrooms and the Indian kitchens. In Phuket, the Marriott Merlin Beach and Le Méridien Karon are the group resorts; the JW Marriott Mai Khao for leadership. Every one of them has done Indian-vegetarian buffets for 300.

No — Indians enter visa-free for 30 days. Each traveller must file the free Digital Arrival Card online within 72 hours of landing; we send the group a link and a one-page how-to, and chase the stragglers. Passports need six months' validity.

Three to four months for 50 to 150 people in high season (November to February) — the group-friendly hotels block early. Six months for 300 or more, or for a charter. Low season (May to October) can be done in six weeks and costs a third less; Phuket's sea is rough then, Pattaya's and Bangkok's are not an issue.

The Thai hotel invoices in baht or dollars without Indian GST. We book the block under your company's name, consolidate the hotel, transfers, venue and meals, and issue one INR invoice with GST on our service, so finance has a single document. Say so at briefing and we'll structure it that way.
