Shangri-La Bengaluru — the tower above the city centre
Shangri-La's Bengaluru hotel stands on Palace Road, a short drive from Vidhana Soudha, Cubbon Park and MG Road. The address for the senior visitor whose meetings are in the centre, and for the event that needs a ballroom with a view.
Shangri-La Bengaluru opened in 2015 as a 19-floor tower on Palace Road, and it quickly became the city's address for the kind of visit where the hotel has to say something: board meetings, investor days, visiting leadership, a wedding reception that needs the 739 sq m Grand Ballroom. The upper floors look across Cubbon Park and the Cantonment, which in a low-rise city is still unusual.
It suits senior executives with meetings in the centre — Vidhana Soudha, the courts, UB City, the Vittal Mallya Road and MG Road offices are all within ten to fifteen minutes; companies hosting an event that wants a single, polished venue with the rooms attached; and leisure travellers who want the city's restaurants and parks on the doorstep rather than a tech-park hotel.
What it isn't: a hotel for the tech corridors. Whitefield, the Outer Ring Road and Electronic City are each 45 minutes to an hour and a half away at peak, and the airport is on the far side of Hebbal. If your week is in a tech park, stay in the tech park.
Palace Road sits between the government quarter and the Cantonment, which puts the hotel at the quiet end of the city centre with everything central a short drive away. For the airport it's one of the better-placed central hotels, because the Bellary Road route north starts almost at the door.
Distances that matter
- Vidhana Soudha / Cubbon Park: About 5 to 10 minutes
- MG Road / Brigade Road: About 10 to 15 minutes
- UB City / Vittal Mallya Road: About 10 minutes
- Bengaluru Cantonment railway station: About 10 minutes
- Kempegowda International Airport: About 32 km — 45 to 75 minutes via Bellary Road
- Manyata Tech Park: About 25 to 40 minutes
- Whitefield / Outer Ring Road: 60 to 90 minutes at peak
Getting there
The hotel is at 56-6B Palace Road, off the Bellary Road axis that runs north to the airport. From the airport, drivers come down via Hebbal and Mekhri Circle; it's one of the more predictable airport runs in the city. We can arrange a hotel car with the booking.

The specific things we do for this hotel
- Events priced with the rooms. The Grand Ballroom is the reason many companies book here. For a conference, an AGM or a reception we quote the venue and the room block on one sheet and manage the rooming list, so you negotiate with one person.
- Centre-of-town trips planned around the roads. We confirm where your meetings are before suggesting this hotel: for the government quarter, the courts, UB City or MG Road it's right; for a tech park we'll tell you so and suggest the corridor hotel instead.
- GST invoicing done right. We take your company's legal name and GSTIN at booking so the invoice is issued correctly first time. At this rate level the stay falls in the 18% GST slab, which a GST-registered company can claim back.
- One person through the stay. A guest added to the block, a late checkout for an evening flight, an invoice to split between cost centres — you message one person who already knows the booking.

Yes. The Grand Ballroom is about 739 sq m and seats up to around 900 theatre-style, with five further venues for breakouts — about 1,450 sq m in all. We quote the venue and the rooms together for a corporate event.
Usually within about 5% for the same room type on the same date — sometimes a little higher, sometimes lower. What you get with us: a proper GST invoice, early check-in handled, and one person accountable for your stay.
Check-in is 2 PM and check-out is 12 noon. If you land early, tell us and we'll ask the hotel to hold a room from your landing time; if there's a charge we'll tell you before you confirm.
No — that's an hour or more each way at peak. For Whitefield, the Outer Ring Road or Electronic City, stay in the corridor; see our Bengaluru corporate booking page for the hotel in each. Shangri-La is for the centre of town.
